Data Retention Statement: Lookup results are not intentionally stored in application databases or retained by the application layer after processing.
This statement outlines how data is handled when executing network diagnostics using the ZoneFetch utility.
1. Scope of Data Processing
When a domain lookup is requested, the application performs standard network queries in real time:
- DNS Lookups: Resolves standard zone record targets (A, AAAA, MX, NS, TXT) via public resolution paths.
- WHOIS Queries: Queries registry port 43 databases to verify domain status and registration boundaries.
- Network Attribution: Resolves the primary hosting provider of the target domain's active IP address using an external API geolocation metadata wrapper.
2. Memory and Infrastructure Logging
Parsed diagnostic payloads are handled strictly within transient memory (RAM) and are cleared from active system resources upon the completion of the PHP request lifecycle.
Because target domain parameters are passed as standard HTTP GET requests, requested query strings, connecting visitor IP addresses, timestamps, and browser user-agent data are recorded within standard web server infrastructure logs (e.g., access.log) during regular platform operations.
3. Third-Party Disclosures
No user data or compiled query parameters are sold, tracked, or distributed to advertising networks. Geolocation lookup tracking is limited to checking target host routing IPs via external network allocation APIs.
